When first take a look at the book you get pretty scared but just let time go by while you get acquainted with more topics dealing with wind energy and you'll love it. The only thing left to say is thanks to the authors. the more you think you know about something the more you realise that you're not even half way there....

This is a good reference book on renewable energy sources. It is well organized and easy to follow, even for non-electrical engineers. As an environmental engineer, I have found it an excellent reference

How to generate power with the wind.

I would compare this to Siegfried Heier's "Grid Integration of Wind Energy Conversion Systems." On the whole, I think Ackermann's book is more comprehensive, although Heier is more complete on low level engineering. Frankly, I think the titles should be interchanged.

Professor Wizelius presents an objective approach to Wind Power Projects and fundamental concepts. The book covers some important Wind Power aspects from A to Z - from technical issues to project development and commercial feasibility analysis. I strongly recommend this book to any one interested in the Wind Power or Renewable Energy business.

I'm sure this is a wonderful book. However, I, rather ignorantly, was expecting "small" and "micro" to actually mean small and micro! These are still huge systems on towers three times the height of a house! I'm glad it was just a library book, because I feel the title doesn't accurately describe the book.
